The investigation in all the cases registered following the Justice Hema has been closed. The state government informed the High Court today that proceedings in all 34 cases registered in connection with the Hema Committee report have been closed.
The government had appointed a Special Investigation Team to file a case and investigate based on the statements given to the Hema Committee. All possible assistance was provided to the survivors to give their statements before the SIT.
Those who gave their statements before the Hema Committee still did not cooperate with the investigation of the special team. The government also announced that the investigation in all the cases was closed. A special bench comprising Justices A.K. Jayasankaran Nambiar and C.S. Sudha clarified that the SIT should not force anyone to give their statements.
