The Kerala Sahitya Academy Awards for 2024 have been announced. K.V. Ramakrishnan and Ezhachery Ramachandran have been awarded honorary membership.
Writers PKN Panicker, Payyannur Kunhiraman, MM Narayanan, TK Gangadharan, KEN and Mallika Younis received the award for comprehensive contribution, while CPM leader M Swaraj received the Endowment Award for the best essay for ‘Book of Flowers’.
GR Indugopan’s Aano was selected as the best novel and Anitha Thampi’s Muringa Vazha Karivep was selected as the best poem in the Academy Awards. Sidharan Naduvil’s Pitthalashalabham was selected as the best play. However, no one was eligible for the Vilasini Award as the works that met the criteria were not received.
E. N. Sheeja’s Ammamanamulla Kanavukkal won the award for best children’s literature. T. S. Shyamkumar won the GN Pillai Award in the endowment category for his work Arren Raman.
