Leading food and grocery delivery platform Zomato will now be known as ‘Eternal’. The company announced the new change on Thursday night. It also unveiled a new logo.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal announced that Zomato will soon be known as Eternal Limited and that the board has approved the name change. He added that this is not just a name change but is part of a move to restructure the company itself.

The company announced that Eternal will comprise four core businesses: food delivery vertical — Zomato, quickcommerce unit — Blinkit, live event business — District, and kitchen supplies unit — Hyperpure. “When Blinkit was acquired, we started using ‘Eternal’ instead of Zomato to differentiate the company and the app,” it said.
“We thought that the day something beyond Zomato becomes a key driver of our future, we would publicly rename the company to Eternal,” founder Deepinder Goyal said in a letter to shareholders. Despite the company’s name change, the Zomato app will continue to operate under its existing name. The company’s stock ticker will be updated from Zomato to Eternal.
Once the shareholders approve the change, the company will move its corporate website from zomato.com to eternal.com. The facelift comes weeks after Zomato entered the BSE Sensex on December 23. Zomato is also the first Indian startup to be listed on the Sensex.
