Indian to enter the space station

Subhanshu Shukla has made history by entering the International Space Station. Subhanshu is the first Indian to enter the space station after four decades. The four-member crew reached the ground after a journey of more than 28.5 hours. The Dragon spacecraft was launched yesterday afternoon with the help of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket. The docking was completed under the leadership of Subhanshu.

The SpaceX Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket carrying the mission lifted off from Launch Pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in the US. The crew was in the Dragon C213 spacecraft mounted on top of the rocket. The docking was possible with the help of NASA’s ground station and space station. In the coming days, 60 scientific research projects will be conducted in areas such as human health, Earth observation, terrestrial physics, and botany. Seven of these experiments are from India. In addition, six unique seeds from Kerala are being tested. The seeds are being sent to space by Vellayani Agricultural University and Thiruvananthapuram IIST.
