Fake Swami arrested for trying to molest an 11-year-old girl under the guise of witchcraft. Shinu, a native of Mundakkal, Kollam, was arrested.
The East Police arrested him three days ago on the girl’s complaint. The girl was subjected to witchcraft by promising high marks in the exam.The complaint is that he took the girl to a room alone and touched her private parts, promising to achieve high marks. He also tied about seven strings on the girl’s body. The girl told her mother about it and the mother complained to the police. The police then informed Child Line. Child Line subjected the girl to counseling.
The mother said that she came to Shinu after hearing from others. He said that she should perform the puja and it would cost her a few rupees, and that she first came alone and inquired about everything, and later brought her daughter with her. ‘When she came, the child was bad at studying and she wanted to ask him a few things alone. He said that she could only perform the puja if she asked him about things. I left the child alone in the room because I trusted him and thought he was a good person. I was standing outside. My daughter was in the room for about three quarters of an hour. When I came out, there was a look of fear on her daughter’s face. When she asked him about things, the daughter said that she felt that Swami had touched her badly. The daughter also said that he had touched her private parts,’ the mother said.
Meanwhile, puja items, swords, canes, strings, etc. have been found in Shinu’s room. His office is operating under the name of Shankh Jyotish. It is reported that he also uses cane to exorcise evil spirits. The employee said that people come here from different parts of the state. A young woman also said that Shinu had physically that she did not tell anyone so that her family life would not be ruined.
